There’s even a Facebook trade group devoted to NHCD.
Some of the cards pulled from those exclusive packs have made their way to eBay.
Those Red Ink autographs of Shohei Ohtani that are randomly inserted into 2018 Topps Heritage have been selling for impressive amounts.
Numbered to 69, several have already been pulled and sold online. The going rate so far has been $3,500-$4,000 but one sold for $5,000. Ohtani’s autograph is nothing to write home about in terms of penmanship but his early spring training performances have kept interest humming.
A bunch of those Red Ink cards (along with the more common blue ink versions and unsigned SP rookie cards) are listed on eBay now.
Aaron Judge may have a big bucks autograph deal with Fanatics, but if you’re at spring training and can make your way to the box seats, he still regularly spends time signing for free.
