A foot chase led to the arrest of a 23-year-old Gilbert, AZ man on charges of stealing items from another man’s sports card and memorabilia collection.

According to ABC 15 in Phoenix, there was a burglary at a collector’s home earlier this month. The victim began calling around to fellow collectors, dealers and local shops in hopes the person who stole the autographs, cards and other items would try to sell them locally.
Indeed, a call was made to a store in Scottsdale and the owner there set up a potential buy in a local parking lot. Police say when Nicholas Julbe saw an officer nearby, he got into his car and raced home. Police caught up with him there and say he took off on foot but was apprehended.
Police say they found several of the stolen items in Julbe’s car and in his bedroom. He already had a criminal record and was on probation at the time. He’s now facing charges of burglary, theft and trafficking in stolen property.

Bob Costas recently sat down with Alex Birsh of Topps Talk for a chat about baseball and baseball cards.
Costas, who collected while growing up as a youngster in New York, recalled using his allowance on stacks of nickel packs.
Costas became well-known for carrying a Mickey Mantle card in his wallet for years after NBC broadcast partner Tony Kubek mentioned it on air during a Game of the Week broadcast in the 1980s.
He still gets a chuckle out of the cartoons on the back, too. Listen to the conversation below.
