He’s always been the king of Washington football memorabilia and now longtime collector Samu Qureshi is ready to sell.
A realtor by day, Qureshi has spent much of his life collecting. He started with cards but then moved on to game-used memorabilia, historic programs, stadium seats and anything else that was historically relevant or fun.
He has thousands of items dating back decades. Now that the team’s fortunes appear headed back in the right direction, he’s looking to sell it all and he’s hoping the new owners of the Commanders franchise might consider buying it and putting it all on display so the public can appreciate the team’s history. The asking price of $6.5 million probably isn’t bad for a ready-made team museum.
He told Fox5 in Washington for this story that if they won’t buy it, he plans to start selling it off.
