Topps is taking a page from Panini’s book for the release of 2023 Bowman Sapphire. The Fanatics owned company plans to sell the product in a modified dutch auction format on Friday.
Boxes will have 32 cards with one guaranteed autograph from a group of 29 prospects. There’s a 150-card base set done on the usual blue-hued chrome stock.
Topps says Sapphire will offer more parallels than in the past.
The auction will start at $850 per box and drop $25 every five minutes. How long to wait until making a commitment to buy is what collectors will have to decide. Once all boxes have been sold at the prices of the claims, the auction ends.
More info is on the Topps’ website.
