In the first 24 hours after he won his seventh Super Bowl, more Tom Brady licensed products were sold on Fanatics web properties than any of the company’s athletes ever have. In the two weeks following Tampa Bay’s Super bowl win, Brady sold more than the entire teams of the last two Super Bowl winners.
While some of that involved jerseys and apparel, Brady autographed memorabilia was a huge seller for the company, even with a signed, inscribed Super Bowl jersey or football marked at upwards of $3,000.
“At these price points, we’ve really never seen this kind of demand,” Victor Shaffer, executive vice president of Fanatics Authentic, told Jacksonville Business Journal.
Fanatics signed Brady to an exclusive autograph deal last fall and the move paid off in a major way.
Shaffer says Brady has “reached a level only exceeded by LeBron James, as far as active athletes.”
Across its websites, including SportsMemorabilia.com, Fanatics offers more than 300 different Brady memorabilia items.
2020 was a good year overall for Fanatics with the company reporting 40 percent growth.
eBay sellers who use eBay Managed Payments will be able to list more items for free beginning April 1. The company says non-store sellers who’ve been receiving 200 free listings per month will get 250. Those who have Basic stores will see their free listings jump from 350 to 1,000. Premium stores will see their limit go from 1,000 to 10,000.
The company says over one million sellers around the world are already using managed payments and the company will require the rest to do so during 2021. Managed payments offers buyers more ways to pay and has other benefits for sellers, according to eBay.
Starting this spring, eBay store subscribers will be able to create custom discount codes they can share with potential buyers in a variety of ways.
eBay’s Final Value Fees now stand at 12.35 percent on the total amount of sales up to $7,500 and 2.35 percent on the portion of any sale over that amount.
Full details are available in the company’s 2021 Spring Seller Update.
