Blake Martinez spent six seasons playing linebacker in the NFL. Last summer gave it up to buy and sell trading cards.
What had been a side hustle coming out of COVID had become a big business for the former member of the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants. After Martinez committed to the Las Vegas Raiders last summer, he decided the lure of his fast growing business was a better long-term deal, both physically and financially. But this former athlete isn’t focused on sports cards–at least not right now.
Blake’s Breaks is all about Pokémon –and bringing in millions in revenue via the Whatnot app. CNBC profiles the former NFL player’s move to the card world and his plans for a huge expansion.

A jersey worn by two-time defending NBA MVP Nikola Jokić when he recorded one of his remarkable string of triple-double stat lines is on the block at NBA Auctions.
Jokic wore the Statement Edition jersey during the Nuggets’ 122-117 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on October 22 in Denver.CO. He scored 19 points with a game-high 13 assists and a game-high 16 rebounds.
The auction is set to run through March 16.
