There’s no MLB All-Star Game this year but the annual All-Star Live auction event will go on.
Delayed a couple of months, the 16th annual catalog sale will again be conducted by Hunt Auctions. It will include the personal collections of Vin Scully and Barry Larkin. Bidding will go live online Friday August 28 with the auction ending on September 23. We’ll have more details soon.
Mike Trout knows about the big price his 2009 Bowman Chrome 1/1 SuperFractor sold for over the weekend.
Trout was asked Monday about the seven-figure price someone paid via Goldin Auctions. The good-natured Angel responded, “Maybe I should’ve kept that one. It’s pretty incredible that a cardboard picture of me is worth that much. It’s pretty humbling.”
Bidding for the highest graded T206 Ty Cobb with Cobb Tobacco back from the “Lucky 7 Find” a few years ago is now at $455,000. It’s a PSA 4.5 and Mile High Card Company’s auction still has over a week to run.
