Thousands of collectors turned out for the Northeast Sports Card Expo’s newest show last weekend.
The Chelsea Piers Athletic Club in Stamford hosted the two-day event, which was billed as Connecticut’s largest sports card show.
The show had about 250 tables of vintage and modern cards, autographs and other memorabilia set up over 30,000-square-feet on the facility’s artificial turf surface.
Autograph guests appearing at the event included UConn men’s basketball players and 2024 NCAA champs Solomon Ball and Jaylin Stewart, former Chicago Bulls player Scott Burrell, two-time NBA champion Wes Matthews, women’s hockey star Alex Carpenter, former Hartford Whalers player Norm Barnes and others.
The promoters of the Expo events–brothers Steve, George and Tom Pepdjonovic– say the Stamford show will become a regular stop on the company’s schedule of shows, which also includes shows in Massachusetts and Maine.
The next Northeast show is in Marlborough, MA on June 22 and 23.
