Serious collectors of sports memorabilia can be found in every corner of every state.
There are plenty of them in sports-mad Northern California.
Al Ellis, Andy Prokop and Bill Schubert all have different reasons for collecting, but all enjoy their connection to the games.
“The great thing about sports is it’s so intertwined with American history,” says Ellis. “I was always fascinated by the history of sports.”
One of the stories involves a barnstorming trip and a Babe Ruth bat that became a sawed-off Little League gamer.
