Box after box, case after case, it became pretty clear to those piecing together sets of 2021 Topps Heritage Baseball.
@Topps
What’s going on with 2021 Heritage baseball.
I opened a full case and did not get ANY #216 cards..Gavan Biggio..
Is there an explanation for this..— Rosario Varisano (@RosarioVarisano) March 30, 2021
Has anyone seen a 2021 Heritage base card 216 Cavan Biggio? I’ve seen zero in 3 cases so far. He could have a wrong card number but no sightings here. I need to tweet out some Heritage pics soon!

Either card #216 was an unannounced super short print or something was out of whack with the checklist. The card simply didn’t seem to exist.
We got our answer on Tuesday, straight from the company.
Topps says a production error is to blame and that none of the cards featuring Toronto Blue Jays star Cavan Biggio were ever made. They plan to rectify the mistake by putting Biggio’s base card in packs of Heritage Update, which is due out in November.
Biggio wasn’t completely left out of Heritage. Topps says the mini and French base variation cards were printed and he’s also featured on a Clubhouse Collection jersey relic card, too. Several of the latter have already been pulled and are listed on eBay.
And if you’re wondering what missing card #216 would have looked like, Topps did include the image in their 10×14″ Heritage base card poster set that’s numbered to 99 and sold online.
