Tuesday was a good day for Nick Suzuki. The 22-year-old Montreal Canadiens star signed an eight-year contract extension with the team worth $63 million while Upper Deck was announcing an exclusive multi-year autograph and memorabilia deal with him.
Suzuki, who led the Canadiens to the 2021 Stanley Cup Final, has already signed pucks, gloves, sticks, helmets, prints and other items for Upper Deck.
Suzuki was drafted 13th overall by the Vegas Golden Knights in 2017. He was traded to Montreal the following year and made the NHL’s All-Rookie Team in 2019. Last season, the London, ON native scored seven goals and nine assists in the playoffs, leading the Habs in postseason scoring for the second straight season.
“I am thrilled to build my relationship with Upper Deck and create exclusive collectibles and memorabilia for fans, especially during such an exciting part of my career,” Nick Suzuki said. “It is an honor to join the roster of amazing athletes who have signed before me.”
“We are excited to have Nick Suzuki onboard as an exclusive signer,” said Gabriel Garcia, Upper Deck Authenticated Director. “Suzuki’s career is continuing to flourish, and we are looking forward to what the future holds with our new product portfolio.”
One of Upper Deck’s items commemorates his first NHL goal in October of 2019 while another offers an artistic breakdown of his slapshot into three distinct freeze-frames.
Prices on Upper Deck’s website range from $299.99 for a signed puck to $999.99 for helmets, gloves, jerseys and sticks.
