A pile of goal pucks from some of the top stars in the NHL is now on the block through MeiGray Auctions. Official NHL pucks from the sticks of Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, Jack Hughes, Cale Makar and Patrick Laine are just some of the 50 listings that are now live.
McDavid’s goal in the final minute of the Edmonton Oilers’ December 18 game at Seattle came as he was tripped on a breakaway after a face-off and dove headfirst while pushing the pack into the empty net. The shot clinched a 5-3 win for the Oilers. The goal was his 17th of the year and the 212th of his career.
McKinnon’s goal in a January 11 game also came with some drama. His late score tied the Oilers and Predators at 4 before Nashville won in overtime. It was his sixth of the season and 216th of his career.
Hughes’ goal—the 25th of his career—came in the first period of a New Jersey Devils win over Edmonton on New Year’s Eve. The puck from Makar’s goal came from a November 19 win at Seattle. It was the 24th goal of his young career.
All of the pucks sold through MeiGray’s partnership with NHL teams are removed from the game by an on-ice NHL official, identified and secured by an NHL off-ice official in the arena during or after the game, and then authenticated and affixed with a hologram by MeiGray.
Bidding for each puck starts at $50.
The auctions are set to run through March 23.
