Goldin launched its new Marketplace and Weekly Auction on Tuesday.
As we reported last month, the company’s Marketplace is a buy/sell platform. Offers can be made and sales conducted instantly, similar to eBay’s “Buy it Now.”
Over 50 items were sold in the first few hours after launch Tuesday morning, including a PSA 7 Nolan Ryan rookie card and numerous modern sports and gaming cards.
The company’s new Weekly Auctions offer ten-day turnaround times and opening bids at $5. Among the first items offered are a 2017 Panini National Treasures Patrick Mahomes Rookie Patch Autograph graded PSA 10 and a 2003-04 Upper Deck Ultimate LeBron James Rookie Autograph graded BGS 9.5/10.
In 2021, Goldin was acquired by Collectors, parent company of PSA and the new platforms offer a one stop shop for sellers who want to grade, vault and sell items through Goldin.
“There are too many pain points in collecting today,” stated Goldin CEO Ross Hoffman. “From authentication and grading, to listing, selling, communicating with buyers, getting paid and then shipping again. We want to take the work out of collecting and allow collectors to focus more on what they love.”
The company will continue its monthly Elite auctions, consisting of items typically valued at $5,000 or more.

That miscut 1952 Topps Jackie Robinson card that shows a little slice of the Mickey Mantle that was right next to it on the production sheet is now in a CSG holder.
The company says the owner recently crossed it over from SGC to CSG. It’s graded 1 (Poor) because of the cut and the little “42” written in ink next to Robinson’s facsimile signature.
Robinson’s card—his first Topps issue—is #312 while the ever popular Mantle is #311. The miscut card is the only one to have surfaced.
The card sold for over $72,000 at auction last March. It’s scheduled to go back on the block through SCP Auctions next month.

Another sports card shop is the target of a thief.
Early Tuesday morning, a burglar smashed his way into Grand Slam Collectibles, a popular shop located in Murfreesboro, TN, not far from Nashville.
The suspect was in the store for about a minute. There’s no word yet on exactly what was taken. Police are investigating.
