Some long-time favorites join a couple of high-end releases in the stable of new sports card product releases as another month comes off the calendar.
Courtesy of The Break Exchange, here’s a look at what to expect:
2018 Topps High Tek Baseball (10/31)
High Tek comes back with the usual array of patterns to chase but you’ll also find a pair of autographed cards inside each box (around $130 online right now). Each one-pack box will have 40 cards in all.
The big base hit will be the 1/1 Gold SpecTEKular Diffractor Pattern cards.
Topps says Insert content has been reconfigured for 2018, with all subsets being sequentially numbered to 99 or less.

2017-18 Panini Flawless Basketball (10/31)
Among the highest of the high-end products, each box –er, briefcase– of Flawless will contain ten cards—at least seven of which will have an autograph and all are on-card. There will be one or two memorabilia cards and one carrying one, two or three diamonds embedded in it.
And yes, this is still a product tied to last season, even though the 2018-19 campaign has been underway for a couple of weeks.
Logoman and Championship tags will be among the big hits with the Dual Diamond Memorabilia Logoman cards also in the chase.
Online pricing right now is around $2,000.
2018 Topps Dynasty Baseball (11/5)
Dynasty box breaks don’t take long.
The one card per box product is back with an autograph or auto relic packed inside a plastic case for a little over $300.
Game and event-used baseball pieces will be among the materials used in the memorabilia cards. Another drawing card in 2018 Dynasty: On This Day auto relics that will date to a specific game in which the featured player had an outstanding performance. They’ll have MLB authentication and be numbered to 5 with a 1/1 parallel.
2018 Topps Triple Threads Baseball (11/7)
Delayed by several weeks, Triple Threads turns into a post-season release. This one’s been around for a long time and this year’s product won’t be vastly different.
In addition to base cards and parallels, every two-pack Master Box includes:
- 1 autographed triple relic card #’d to 99 or less
- 1 triple relic card #’d to 36 or less
- 1 autograph rookie card or autograph jumbo relic card #’d to 99 or less
Boxes are online for a little over $200.
2018-19 Donruss Basketball (11/7)
Donruss Basketball returns with an all new jumbo configuration. Look for two autographs and 60 inserts or parallels per box, on average.
Donruss will offer the first on-card autographs of the 2018-19 NBA rookie class in their NBA uniforms in its Next Day Autographs set.
Timeless Treasures is a throwback set with autographs and memorabilia pieces from past greats.
Donruss is online for around $90 per box.
2018-19 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey (11/8)
This is one of the rare products that has managed to not only survive, but thrive despite having very little autograph content. In fact, the autos fall just one per case. It’s the Young Guns, the base set (really) and excellent photography that keep collectors coming back.
Of course, it doesn’t hurt that this is the NHL’s flagship hockey card product. In Canada, especially, release day for Series 1 is almost a national holiday with long lines sometimes forming outside hobby shops.
Each box (around $80 online) has 24 packs with eight cards per pack and six Young Guns rookie cards.
