It’s a football and basketball-heavy release schedule for the latter half of November. Panini will launch a trio of NFL trading card products in and around the Thanksgiving week NFL schedule while also dropping some hoop releases.
Courtesy on online breaker The Break Exchange, here’s a look at some of what’s heading to market:
2018-19 Certified Basketball (11/14)
Does it seem like it’s been awhile for this one? It definitely has been. Certified is returning after an absence of nearly ten years (although we’ve seen ‘Totally Certified” branded cards).
The reboot includes ten five-card packs with two autographed cards, seven parallels, ten inserts and one memorabilia card in each box.
Look for on-card autographs from the stars of the 2018 NBA Draft Class in Rookie Roll Call and Certified Potential along with rookie jersey autographs in Freshman Fabric Signatures. It’s not all rookies though. The product includes signed cards from veterans and past greats.
Boxes are a little under $100 online now.
2018-19 Flawless Collegiate basketball (11/16)
The college edition of Panini’s high-end basketball brand returns with on-card autographs from top 2018 rookies in Rookie Patch Autographs. Look for rare Conference,Team and Brand Logos plus Final Four Patches.
New this year, Flawless Player Team Gems features school logos with color-coordinated gemstones paired with famous alumni.
Each box of Flawless Collegiate should contain six autographs plus two additional autograph/memorabilia cards and two Diamond, Sapphire, Ruby or Emerald gem cards.
Packed in a briefcase, Flawless Collegiate runs about $1,250 per box.
2018-19 Prizm Basketball (11/21)
Panini’s third basketball release in eight days is a familiar (and generally popular) one.
Prizm is back with its big base set and colorful parallels. In fact, they dominate breaks with 22 in each hobby box. If a pack only has one, that means it’s probably got an autograph inside (there are two of those per box).
The First Off the Line boxes are more expensive but traditional hobby boxes are running $240-$270 online.
2018 Panini Playoff Football (11/21)
It’ll be a big day for Panini releases with Prizm and Playoff both hitting at the same time.
Each box of Playoff has 12 packs of eight cards. Inside should be:
- 12 Rookies
- 20 Inserts
- 4 Parallels
- 2 Autographs
- 2 Memorabilia Cards
The base set is big at 300 cards. HOF autographs, rookie autographs and a preview of Donruss Optic Rated Rookie Autographs (cards numbered to 24 or less) are among the highlights of Playoff, which comes at a price tag of a little under $100.
2018 Panini Immaculate Football (11/23)
Immaculate, as usual, doesn’t mess much with anything other than autographs. Each six-card pack/box has five of them along with a base card or parallel.
Pull an on-card autograph from Immaculate and it’ll be on acetate stock. Panini also says there will be more full-sized memorabilia cards that feature swatches from Team Logos, Jersey Numbers, Laundry Tags, and the all new Immaculate Shields insert. New on-card signed inserts include Immaculate HOF Signatures, Immaculate Careers, and Immaculate Records. Immaculate Eye Black Jersey cards will feature signed eye-black pieces and a jersey patch. Look for the gold-ink parallel, numbered as low as one.
Overall, Immaculate promises more than 50 percent more one-of-ones than last year.
Boxes are online for around $390.
2018-19 Upper Deck Black Diamond Hockey
An annual early season high-end release, Black Diamond returns with one five-card pack and a bonus one-card Exquisite pack. The latter is sort of a tease for the Exquisite-branded cards that will be distributed throughout the 2018-19 Upper Deck hockey calendar.
Rookies Diamond Relic cards (#d to 99) and their 1/1 Black parallels will be among the big draws with more than 30 elite first-year players featured. There are four levels, with one to four diamonds embedded within each card. Veteran Diamond Relics will also be in the mix, including some numbered 1/1.
New additions include Hall of Fame Rings cards commemorating those players who have won the Stanley Cup.
Additional chase cards include: Silver on Black Signatures, Rookie Booklet Relics, Championship Rings, Team Logo Jumbos and Diamond Cutters.
Boxes are online for around $225.
Also due for release is 2018 Panini Rookies and Stars football (11/26); Topps UFC Museum (11/28); Panini Prime Racing (11/16) and 2018 Topps WWE Then, Now and Forever (11/14).
