The supply chain is getting back to normal and the sports card release calendar is starting to look a little more normal as May gives way to June. In fact, it’s getting a little crowded.
The first week of June will see four new products alone.
2019-20 Panini Noir hit the market Wednesday. From here on out, it’s a mix of more basketball, baseball, football and hockey from the licensed manufacturers.
Here’s a quick roundup of what should be available at hobby shops and online in the next couple of weeks. Click the links to read more about each product.
May 29: 2020 Contenders Draft Picks: This year’s draft picks join former college stars in the latest Panini football release. More early Joe Burrow cards and six autographs per hobby box are among the selling points.
June 3: SP Authentic Hockey: The first of two Upper Deck NHL products arrives as the league begins putting together its plan to return to the ice.
June 5: 2020 Score Football: Originally scheduled for late April, Score arrives with the NFL still formulating plans for how things will operate this season. No shortage of cards here, with Score boasting 40 cards per pack and ten packs per hobby box (around $275 on eBay right now). Boxes should have four autographs along with dozens of parallels and inserts, not to mention 90 rookie cards.
June 5: 2020 Topps Tier One Baseball: As usual, Tier One is all about the hits and it’s been a little while since we’ve seen a hit-based baseball release in this odd spring. Each one-pack box (around $170) will include two autographed cards and a relic card. That’s it.
June 5: 2019-20 Panini Court Kings Basketball: Delayed a couple of months, Court Kings offers 10 cards in a one-pack hobby box (currently running about $365), with two autograph and/or memorabilia cards.
June 10: 2020 Topps Diamond Icons Baseball: Diamond Icons is a one-pack box with ten cards per pack. Each box (around $1,700) will once again have seven on-card autographs, two autographed relic cards and one unsigned relic card.
June 10: 2019-20 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Hockey: A one pack box product, Ultimate returns with a mix of autographs with four cards to a pack including one rookie autograph or memorabilia card.
