Jerseys on the wall, long tables, a big screen HDTV. It’s a sports bar, right?
Not quite.
Two Nebraska men have opened a new sports card shop that bears a striking resemblance to your favorite watering hole.

Matt Myers and Jim Murphy opened Omaha Sports Cards on May 1 as a place where collectors and fans could buy cards and memorabilia, but also feel comfortable enough to stay awhile. They don’t serve alcohol, but there are refreshments available.
Myers and Murphy got their new venture off the ground just in time for this year’s College World Series and they’re hoping fans of some of the teams who make the trip to Omaha will spread the word about their shop.
The store carries many of the newer products, some vintage and supplies as well as autographed memorabilia.
Myers has been the promoter of a local monthly card show and says the two put together an informal business plan and then got the word out about their store on 137th Street.
They got a couple of nice boosts this week when NCAA.com carried this story on the stop for its ‘Road to Omaha’ series and again when the area’s largest newspaper, the World-Herald, did this spread on the store and the industry in general.
