For 7 1/2 years it’s been a staple in Red Bank, New Jersey and at some of the country’s top sports memorabilia shows, but now Fameabilia is closing its doors.
Opening a sports memorabilia business sounds like a good idea. Why not do something you love?
But if you can get your business off the ground–and be lucky and good enough to succeed–it’s not all a dream.
Fameabilia, a historic and sports memorabilia shop in Red Bank, New Jersey, did well for owner Julie Baron and her husband Bruce. Open seven days a week, the shop carried an impressive stock of autographs, historic memorabilia and sports cards.
2008 will be the store’s last year in business, though. Julie Baron decided last weekend to begin selling off the store’s inventory and shut the doors on Christmas Eve.
The move isn’t a result of the shaky economy, they told a local media outlet, but rather the demands of running a business.
