The Philly Show is back later this month, with autograph guests and dozens of dealer tables with cards and memorabilia descending on the Valley Forge Casino Resort in King of Prussia, PA. The 134th edition of the show takes place from February 28-March 1 and is the first of three such events each year.
The three-day event has roots back in the 1970s when it was put on by the Eastern Pennsylvania Sports Collectors Club.
There will be 160 dealer booths with dealers from 19 states.
“The casino is a very good venue for us,” show manager Paul Kutch, show manager for East Coast Sports Marketing, told The Times Herald of Swarthmore, PA for this story. “With the sports card show downstairs, and the casino upstairs we get a lot of extra traffic.”
Among the autograph guests are new Pro Football Hall of Famer Harold Carmichael, Jimmy Rollins, Jeff Reardon, Jim Kaat, Doc Gooden, Brian Mitchell, Mike Rozier, Eric Allen, Thurman Thomas and Lou Holtz. Other players with Eagles and Phillies ties are on the schedule. Mail order autographs are available.
