A new collectibles auction site hopes to attract part of its business from the sports memorabilia market.
It’s an uphill climb, but VirtualShops.biz hopes to attract buyers and sellers of all types of antiques and vintage merchandise including sports memorabilia.
The company says it was "conceived to meet the needs of small boutique buyers and sellers of Vintage and Antique merchandise who have been forgotten in the new philosophical direction that eBay has adopted."
Virtual Shops.biz began last month with its Virtual Gems Emporiumn and says it is "almost finished" in opening two more auction specialty store boutiques including its Virtual Collectibles Shop which will be an auction site for antique and vintage traditional and popular collectible merchandise to include sports memorabilia, toys, comic books, books, paper ephemera, car collectibles, advertising and other categories. The company says it will launch the collectibles site by the end of November as part of an ongoing expansion plan.
Candace Daugherty, the founder of Virtual Shops.biz is a 13 year veteran of eBay has stated that “The Virtual Shops Unique Concept will be the auction sites of choice for the discriminating dealer and collector of antique and vintage items that have history and provenance.”
Virtual Shops.biz was started with what it says are three distinct business philosophical strategies. One is to be provide the auction boutique venue for antique and vintage merchandise in "an environment that reflects the character and quality of the merchandise". They also pledge to be the least costly online marketplace for sellers and to "provide the best customer service available, bar none."
