The crowd that set an attendance record for a women’s sporting event Wednesday night is now a trading card.
Topps commemorated the 92,000 fan turnout for a volleyball match at the University of Nebraska with one of its NOW cards. The card shows fans packing Memorial Stadium as the Cornhuskers met Omaha.
Billed as “Volleyball Day in Nebraska,” the event generated headlines around the world.
The cards–created under the Bowman U brand– are priced at $9.99.

Panini will have college football cards on its Instant platform this year. The season long series kicked off with a pair of USC players for Week 1.
Heisman Trophy favorite Caleb Williams and receiver Zachariah Branch—along with a combo card of both—are being sold now.
The cards are $9.99 and all will be available for seven days with new cards dropping each week.

Panini has announced a partnership with Dylan Crews, the second pick in the recent MLB Draft. Crews won the 2023 Golden Spikes Award winner as the top amateur player in the country and was drafted by the Washington Nationals.
Crews will first be featured in Panini’s 2023 Elite Extra Edition Baseball set, including packaging and point of purchase materials.
It won’t be his debut on the company’s products, though. He was in the Team USA Starts & Stripes and Contenders Baseball sets in 2017.
Crews is an outfielder who currently plays for the Nationals’ AA affiliate in Harrisburg, PA.

You can probably expect to see cards of France’s new favorite son on that auction platform, but one sold elsewhere has just become the most expensive Victor Wembanyama card sold so far.
The autographed 2022 Bowman U 1/1 SuperFractor featuring the NBA’s number one draft pick sold for $67,333 via Goldin on Wednesday night.
The newest member of the San Antonio Spurs, the versatile 7-footer signed the card “1st Ever.”

The trading card hobby continues to grow internationally. A large French auction house has opened a department devoted to gaming and sports cards, with its first event scheduled for October 18.
is collaborating with card specialist François Thierry for the venture.
“In France, the sports card market is proving to be dynamic around football and basketball,” the company says.
By “football” they mean soccer, of course, and the first auction will include a complete 1974 Panini World Cup Sticker set with album, Kylian Mbappe cards and other items.
Aguttes is billing itself as “the first auction house to position itself on sports cards in Europe.”

The casting department at ITV America is putting together episodes for the show’s next season and is seeking collectors or members of the public with collectibles that might be a fit for the show when it shoots in Las Vegas.
Items with an interesting back story, valuable and historic pieces are especially desirable—and they can also be from other collecting genres.
