If you had the day off Monday, there was an MLK Day card show in the Boston area.
About 50 tables full of cards and memorabilia were set up at the Holiday Inn in Dedham for a show that also featured five autograph guests: former Boston Bruins Derek Sanderson and Rick Smith, Celtics alumni Leon Powe and Eddie House and Hall of Fame announcer Mike Gorman.
Doug Keating of Cardboard Promotions has made holiday Monday shows a regular event in the area. He’ll host the annual President’s Day show on Feb. 19.

Lelands has opened its first Pop Up Auction of 2024. Among the highlights in what is generally an online catalog with lower cost items is a signed Roberto Clemente bio page with a signature graded 8 by PSA.
There’s also a 1916 album with multiple photos of Red Sox players who were guests at an outdoor retreat in New Hampshire, hosted by the Draper & Maynard Sporting Goods factory. Babe Ruth is visible on three of them.
A near set of 1961 Post Cereal cards, dozens of other vintage card singles, lots and sets, 1970s Baltimore Orioles game-worn jerseys and a variety of memorabilia are among the other items in the sale, which continues through Jan. 28.
