You might remember our story last year that hooked us up with the Boston Globe’s piece on high school student Cam Perron from Arlington, Mass., a huge baseball fan and collector. He’s different than most, though.
Perron has developed a strong and sincere interest in the Negro Leagues, especially players who spent time there but never got any recognition. He wrote for autographs, but then helped them find former teammates, listened to their stories and corresponded by mail with several. Some have become his friends.
Their letters to him are full of appreciation.
He’ll graduate from high school this spring, but listen to him in this special segment from MLB.com and you’ll think he’s 17 …going on 30. Watch it here.
