On deck circles. Bases. Pitching rubbers. Baseballs. If you saw it in the All-Star Game, the Futures Game or the Home Run Derby, it’s probably going to be for sale at some point. Major League Baseball’s online auction of items from this year’s festivities in Kansas City is underway with some items already sold and others on the block now.
From now until July 29, the Workout Day/Home Run Derby jerseys are on the block. Most, if not all of the jerseys have been autographed by the players who wore them. The bidding just opened this week but the hottest jerseys thus far have been those donned by Derek Jeter, Bryce Harper, Mike Trout and Yu Darvish, all of which stand at $550.
A game-used base from the first and second inning of the All-Star game, with hologram, sold Wednesday night for $3,007. The base saw a lot of action. The National Leaguers pounded AL starting pitcher Justin Verlander in the opening frame, establishing control they never gave up.
The National League’s on deck circle sold for $2,008, a game-used baseball brought $460 and home plate from the Home Run Derby garnered a winning bid of $2,078.
