It’s the first Wagner to reach the market since Goldin sold a PSA 1.5 example for $3.7 million in October 2022. The card offered by MHCC is the one SCP Auctions sold for just over $1.1 million in October 2021. The card is branded Authentic/Restored by PSA primarily because of some creases that were were touched up in the background of the card, which is otherwise completely original, including the Sweet Caporal cigarettes advertising back.
Over the last four years, Mile High has sold multiple copies of the T206 Wagner including the PSA 1 “All-Star Cafe” example that netted over $3 million in March of last year.
“The record-breaking results that we’ve achieved in past T206 Wagner auctions afforded us the opportunity to offer up this magnificent card,” boasted MHCC CEO and President Brian Drent of the company’s most recent offering. .
