A lone vehicle sped up to Oliver’s Sports Cards and Memorabilia in Wichita, Kansas on Saturday night.
Unfortunately, the occupant wasn’t looking to participate in a late night box break.
Security camera video and still photos show a person dressed all in white walking up to the store’s front door and tossing something through the glass. He then pushes his way in and in less than a minute, lumbers out with a load of about 100 autographed sports jerseys.
Vince Oliver got the phone call every shop owner dreads just after midnight. Oliver then went to his security cameras (he’s been burglarized more than once) and saw the bumbling crook toss the jerseys haphazardly into the back seat of an SUV, dragging some of them behind as he sped off.
Several carried autographs from big-time stars. The thief didn’t bother to grab the stack of JSA certificates of authenticity, though, so the market value may be questionable.
In any case, approximately $20,000 of merchandise is gone and Oliver is hoping collectors will help track down a suspect.
