Rich Bannatyne’s "Nothing but Sports" in Traverse City, MI is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary. Between the Detroit Tigers and one special Sidney Crosby card pulled by a customer, 2006 was a pretty good year.
Traverse City isn’t big, but it is a tourist destination thanks to it’s location on the shore of Lake Michigan. The city hosts the Detroit Red Wings training camp each fall and the city is also home to a sports card and memorabilia shop that tries to be as diverse as possible to stay alive.
The formula has worked for Nothing But Sports. Among the stacks of wax boxes and new cards are autographs of Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio.
Red Wings fans find items autographed by Alex Delvecchio, Steve Yzerman and Mr. Hockey himself, Gordie Howe.
"Hockey is my biggest seller, since we’re Hockey Town North,” says the man in charge.
