Mile High Card Company launched its latest ‘Extra Innings’ auction on Wednesday afternoon, but this one is a little different.
“Our Extra Innings auctions are usually targeted to the more modest collector,” said MHCC President and CEO Brian Drent, “But we’ve acquired such a large amount of advanced material recently that some consignors have requested we promote their items as headliners in Extra Innings.”
The list of top items resembles a catalog auction event, with a 1915 Cracker Jack #167 Clark Griffith PSA 8 NM/MT, 1951 Bowman #253 Mickey Mantle NM/MT, 1956 Topps #33 Roberto Clemente PSA 8 NM/MT, 1956 Topps #135 Mickey Mantle PSA 8 NM/MT, 1969 Topps #533

There are several vintage complete sets in the catalog including a 1954 Bowman that includes the short-printed Ted Wililams card, a 1955 Bowman set with salesman samples, a 1958 Topps set that includes some graded card and a 1986-87 Fleer basketball set with each card, including the Michael Jordan rookie graded PSA 9 or 10.
Unopened material includes a 1993 Upper Deck SP Factory Sealed Box (Derek Jeter rookie), a 1988 Fleer Basketball Wax Box (BBCE), 1981 Topps Football Unopened Wax Box (BBCE), 1981 Topps Football vending box (Joe Montana rookie year), 1986 Topps Football Wax Box (BBCE) and a 2000 SP Authentic Football box (Tom Brady RC).
The auction is set to run through Thursday, May 4.
