Mile High Card Company has opened its Extra Innings Auction. Designed for collectors with modest budgets, the auction includes 365 lots.
Among the items up for grabs are partial sets of 1951, ’52 and ’55 Bowman baseball, dozens of vintage sports card lots and singles both graded and ungraded, rookie cards of Willie Mays, Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson and others, autographs, game-used material and vintage publications.
The auction runs through October 19.
Upper Deck has a new agreement with Connor McDavid that gives the company rights to act as the exclusive provider of authentic signed memorabilia and collectibles for the young NHL star. Upper Deck has had exclusive trading card rights with McDavid since the 2015 NHL Draft, where he was selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Edmonton Oilers.
“We were overwhelmed by the response to Connor’s Young Guns Rookie Card, and the overall demand for Connor McDavid NHL cards from fans everywhere,” said Jason Masherah, president of Upper Deck.
The company revealed the first wave of a new line of McDavid signed items on Tuesday via its online store. You can watch a video of his signing session below.
MeiGray will be in Rogers Place in Edmonton on Wednesday, October 12, authenticating the first jerseys ever worn by the Oilers in the new building. That includes the first jersey with the captain’s C ever worn by McDavid, who at 19 years, 266 days is the youngest player to be named a team captain in the 99-year history of the NHL.
MeiGray has authentication/sales agreements with Boston, Columbus, Dallas, Edmonton, New Jersey, Nashville, Philadelphia and Washington for 2016-17.
Part of getting ready for a new season is knocking out some autographs. The Nashville Predators will give away a lot of it during the upcoming season and prior to Tuesday’s practice the team put 4,000 items out for players to sign.
