Topps produced a special Memorial Day Topps NOW card Tuesday, with proceeds from sales destined for Welcome Back Veterans, a non-profit group that helps veterans who may be dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The card, which features scenes from Monday’s games at big league ballparks when players donned special camo-themed uniforms, costs $9.99 and will be available until 1:30 PM Eastern time Wednesday. It’s part of the season-long Topps NOW program in which various milestones, performances and events are commemorated through print-to-order cards. Discounts are given for orders of multiple cards.
Welcome Back Veterans provides on-going treatment to vets and their families for any PTSD issues they may have. The group says its’ goal is also to “change the way Americans think and talk about PTSD.”
The program is designed to complement existing efforts at the Veterans Administration and Department of Defense, which are sometimes overwhelmed with requests for help.
Monday’s other Topps NOW card featured Pirates’ pitcher Jeff Locke, who tossed his first career shut out.
You can order either card here.
