Some World War II era memorabilia will highlight a Baseball in Wartime conference taking place in New Orleans this weekend.
It was a time of ‘one for all’ and ‘all for one’. World War II didn’t stop baseball, though. In fact, it played a major role in keeping morale high.
The stars of the day were called upon for active duty. Those that are still around are gathering in New Orleans for a special event. Starting Friday, vintage photographs and memorabilia will be on display at the National World War II Museum, as part of a new exhibit, "When Baseball Went to War," scheduled to run through March.
