MeiGray Group has signed a deal to handle sales of game-worn jerseys from the National Women’s Hockey League.
The new NWHL-MGG partnership will enable fans and collectors the opportunity to purchase or pre-order game-worn jerseys from the inaugural 2015-16 and current 2016-17 NWHL seasons via auction and retail sale from all four NWHL teams: the defending Isobel Cup champion Boston Pride, the Buffalo Beauts, the Connecticut Whale and the New York Riveters.
“We’re proud to partner with the industry leaders at MeiGray Group,” said NWHL Commissioner Dani Rylan. “The integrity and experience that MeiGray brings to this process is crucial to fans and collectors interested in NWHL game-worn jerseys.”
The partnership’s first auction of the unique 2016-17 pre-season jerseys has begun at www.meigrayauctions.com and it concludes Tuesday, Nov. 29 beginning at 9 p.m. ET with jerseys from the Isobel Cup champion Boston Pride and the Connecticut Whale. Auction No. 2, the 2016-17 pre-season jerseys worn by the Buffalo Beauts and New York Riveters, is also underway.
MeiGray retains the exclusive rights to the NWHL’s game-worn jerseys worn during the 2016-17 regular season, Isobel Cup Playoffs, and Isobel Cup Finals. Those jerseys will be available for pre-order throughout the season at www.meigray.com.
“There is nothing more exciting in the game-worn collecting world than historic firsts,” said MeiGray President Barry Meisel. “We’re honored to be authenticating and distributing the first collection of jerseys from the first U.S. women’s professional hockey league.”
