Some celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with corned beef. Others will down a pint or three of green beer.
Some collectors will be bidding on green Boston Bruins warmup jerseys.
The team donned the special sweaters for their skate prior to last week’s “Irish Heritage Night” game with the Detroit Red Wings, which was won by the Bruins, 6-5 in overtime. After the game, players autographed their jerseys before they were prepared for sale through MeiGray Auctions. Most were worn on the ice; a few are listed as “game issued.”
Twenty-four jerseys are being offered in the auction. They carry a 2018 St. Patrick’s Day patch on the left shoulder, a shamrock on the right shoulder, and unique “pot of gold” style numbers on each sleeve.
Each was authenticated by a Bruins-MeiGray Group Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program Director immediately after it was used. Each jersey has been security-tagged, serial-numbered, and registered into the NHL-MGG Population Report.
The minimum bid on each signed jersey is $250. The auction runs through April 3 at MeiGrayAuctions.com.
