Collector, manufacturer, NHL team owner. Scratch the last part. But as with everything else, Todd McFarlane had fun selling his stock.
He bought all of those home run balls when everyone wanted them and earned enough publicity for it to earn what’s become a lucrative deal to produce action figures.
Todd McFarlane also owned part of the Edmonton Oilers’ NHL franchise.
A very small part. But not anymore. The Oilers were sold, but McFarlane was the last one to give up the ghost, just for the heck of it.
He was also willing to make fun of himself for buying all of those Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa home run balls.
