Mascot, which allows trading card sellers to list items on various platforms simultaneously, has a new partnership with live streaming platform Whatnot.
The integration allows Mascot users to add cards to Whatnot selling accounts, providing another option to sell them to a large audience of potential buyers.
Whatnot is the largest live-streaming platform in the United States, allowing users to sell in a live format or via fixed price items in an online store. The company opened a sports card category in October 2020 and quickly became known for its live streaming of box breaks and live auctions of single sports cards that go on 365 days per year, at all hours of the day.
Mascot launched in 2023, with a platform aimed at enhancing liquidity for hobby shops, dealers and collectors. The company also has partnered with sports card show promoters to allow show dealers to put their inventory on its platform as a way to make it easier for attendees to find specific cards or browse inventories ahead of the event or during it. Mascot’s current integrations include eBay, Shopify (which connects to Facebook, Instagram and elsewhere), TikTok Shop and MyCardPost.
According to Mascot CEO Ezra Levine, the items Mascot users list via Whatnot can be sold either as fixed price items or via an auction. if an item sells on Whatnot or other channels, it will be automatically and instantly delisted from other channels. To launch items via Whatnot auctions, sellers will have to first delist them from other channels.
Mascot and Whatnot’s integration will also cover sports and non-sports cards with other categories to follow.
