Oscar Soule may be aligned with the Seattle Mariners, but his passion for baseball–and collecting–started in St. Louis over 60 years ago.
Like a lot of kids, he kept an autograph book with signatures from big league players he tracked down at the ballpark. Unlike a lot of those autographs, Oscar Soule’s book survived his passage into adulthood.
Since 1947, Soule has been collecting baseball memorabilia and cards, but first and foremost, he’s a fan.
"There are people who know more about baseball," Soule said. "But I don’t know if there’s anyone who enjoys it more than I do," he said.
He’s a Mariners season ticket holder who eats, sleeps and breathes baseball from his giant Ken Griffey Jr advertising piece to his collection of baseball cards, neatly stored in the basement.
