An Arizona man says his collection of over 10,000 signed baseball cards is missing after someone broke into the garage where he kept them last month.
Scott Cooper says he began collecting as a kid back in the 1970s and obtained all of the autographs in person. The collection included numerous Hall of Famers.
Early in the morning of August 25, Cooper says someone ransacked the garage and stole his collection. He told ABC 15 in Phoenix that he believes the thief is someone who found out where he kept his collection because the thief or thieves broke in through the garage’s back door, not far from where the collection was kept.
Cooper filed a report with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office but as of right now, about the only lead in the case is a neighbor’s surveillance camera video of the silver vehicle that pulled into his driveway that morning.
He’s offering a reward for the safe return of the collection.
