The autograph business is alive and well. Card shows continue to attract collectors more than willing to pay get something signed and the private signing/mail order segment is strong as well.
Steiner Sports has scheduled more than two dozen big game current and former athletes for private signing sessions over the next five weeks including Derek Jeter, Julius Erving, Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Greg Maddux , Yogi Berra,
Evan Longoria and others. On Wednesday, Ravens’ running back Ray Rice signed for the company.
Steiner will have a few of the athletes into its retail outlets but most will be private signing sessions. Collectors can order items from a display page online or send in their own items. Prices vary greatly depending on the player.
