The owner of an Ohio sports collectibles shop was found shot to death Monday with his hands tied behind his back.
Police in Akron say a friend discovered the 54-year-old Patrick Feeney on the floor of Bernie’s Shaver Shop and Collectibles on East Exchange Street. The case is being investigated as a homicide, according to media in northeast Ohio that have been covering the case. The friend had come into the shop to use Feeney’s phone and called 9-1-1 after seeing the back door had been kicked open and Feeney lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

Feeney had run Bernie’s Shaver Shop since 1997. The shop, which opened in 1951, is housed on the first floor of a converted house where Feeney lived. Feeney sold sports cards and memorabilia as well as antique toys.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact Akron police at 330-375-2490.

Police have been called to the store three times since 2011, twice on burglary complaints. In 2012, a large collection of sports cards was reported stolen from the store, which was on the first floor of a converted house.
