Flooding continues to wreak havoc on the lives of people in Louisiana. Rescuers have been using any means necessary to get to stranded people and pets. For some businesses, the water has been devastating.
In Denham Springs, Eddie Kay, the owner of Southeast Cards and Comics, was left with piles of ruined books and cards a week ago. So far, he’s only been able to salvage about 15% of his inventory and while he doesn’t own the flea market style building where his shop is located, he’s hoping to get back in business as soon as possible.
“We get a lot of families in here. I get moms with their sons, dads with their daughters, and grandparents with their grandkids,” Kay said. “This is a place that you can come whomever you are and find something that you’re going to like and feel good about your visit when you leave.”
