Stan Sherr’s first football game was the 1938 NFL Championship at the Polo Grounds. He nearly froze, but his New York Giants beat the Green Bay Packers 23-17.
That helped kick-start an intense interest in the Giants and all sports and through it all he kept virtually every ticket stub from every game he ever attended, from that first one through the next several decades.
Sherr isn’t really a collector, but his accumulation of stubs is immense. He has them for hundreds of games including some of the most memorable in New York history. He and his wife Carol now live in Merritt Island, Florida but he remains a big fan of the Giants.
The best thing about all of those stubs, many of which are now in a collage assembled by his son, is that they bring back a lot of memories.
He shared them with FloridaToday.com.
