He was an NCAA athlete just a few weeks ago but Leonard Fournette is already raking in some endorsement money. The former LSU running back has signed a trading card, autograph and endorsement deal with Panini America.
Fournette’s first licensed trading card was schedule to be released through the Panini Instant (PaniniInstant.com) on-demand platform and will be available to order throughout Super Bowl Week. A limited number of autograph versions will be available – making it Fournette’s first autographed trading card.
Panini says Fournette “will be featured prominently throughout Panini America’s 2017 NFL product line.” Panini will also offer autographed memorabilia such as photos and jerseys through its Panini Authentic division.
As part of this new partnership, Fournette will appear on Panini NFL/NFLPA and Collegiate licensed packaging. In addition, Fournette will take part in Panini marketing activations beginning later this week participating as an athlete coach at Panini’s Pop Warner Skills Clinic at Super Bowl LI in Houston.
“I’m so proud to announce my new partnership with Panini America which will give fans the chance to immediately get their hands on memorabilia and trading cards,” said Fournette. “When I first signed with Roc Nation Sports they promised to deliver on some groundbreaking partnerships right off the jump. Now, as the first running back to become an exclusive member of Panini Authentic, I know I will be able to reach my fan base on a more personal level before even starting my professional career.”
“Leonard Fournette became a household name during a decorated, highlight-reel career at LSU, and football fans and collectors across the country are eagerly anticipating his NFL debut,” said Mark Warsop, Panini America CEO. “We’re excited to partner with Fournette as part of such a meaningful agreement. He’ll be a key driver for Panini America products for the entire 2017 season and beyond.”
“We are thrilled that Panini has identified Leonard Fournette as a truly elite talent and once-in-a-generation-type athlete,” said Michael R. Yormark, Roc Nation President & Chief of Branding and Strategy. “Leonard’s game-breaking abilities and magnetic charisma give him a unique appeal that transcends sports and culture, and it is a testament to Panini that they recognize those traits and will look to build off of them with this innovative and historic partnership.”
During a spectacular career at LSU, Fournette rushed for 3,830 yards and 40 touchdowns while averaging 6 yards per carry. He’s projected by many experts to be a top-10 pick and the first running back selected in the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft.
