Lelands has been selected to auction the personal collection of Dallas Green.
Hundreds of items from the estate of the former major league manager and executive will be included in the company’s 2020 Spring Classic Auction.
Green, who passed away in 2017, was a former pitcher who then went on to manage the Phillies, Yankees and Mets. Perhaps his penultimate achievement was his leadership of the Phillies when they won their very first World Series title in 1980. He subsequently served as the Cubs general manager and was named Sporting News Executive of the Year in 1984. That trophy will be among the items featured in the upcoming auction.
According to Lelands, other items in the collection include:
- 1967 Philadelphia Phillies Game Worn Jersey. The original flannel road jersey might be the last as he wore as a player.
- 1981 Philadelphia Phillies Game Worn Jersey. All original home, knit jersey worn during his last year of managing the Phillies.
- 2003 Philadelphia Phillies Last Game at Veterans Stadium Uniform. Worn for the on-field ceremonies for the final game ever played at “The Vet.”
- 1987 Chicago Cubs “Operating Manual.” Binder of information used includes scouting reports on every major league player active at the time.
The Lelands Spring Auction will open in April and run through May 15 on the company’s website.
