NBA Auctions has opened its latest round of game-used memorabilia listings, with important jerseys from a long-time veteran and a 19-year-old rookie.
The white jersey worn by LeBron James in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 138-115 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas Day will become the top-selling item of the new season when the auction comes to a close February 11.
The Size 52 Nike jersey quickly rocketed past $54,000 in early bidding.
With his 22-point effort, James moved into second place on the all-time Christmas Day scoring list:
1. Kobe Bryant — 395 points in 16 games (24.6 ppg )
2. LeBron James — 383 points in 15 games (25.5 ppg )
3. Oscar Roberson — 377 points in 12 games (31.4 ppg)
4. Dwyane Wade — 314 points in 13 games (24.1 ppg)
5. Kevin Durant — 299 in 10 games (29.9 ppg)
In March of last year, the jersey James wore in the first half of the NBA All-Star Game sold for $630,300, setting a new record for a modern era game-worn sports jersey.
Also on the block is a Charlotte Hornets jersey worn by rookie LaMelo Ball during the 121-114 Opening Night loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on December 23 in Cleveland. Bidding had surpassed $3,000 as of early Sunday.
The rest of the Lakers’ Christmas Day jerseys and those worn by other members of the Hornets are among dozens being offered on the NBA Auctions platform.
Last week, an Opening Night jersey worn by Zion Williamson sold for over $15,000.
