The jersey worn by LeBron James in the second half and overtime sessions of the first two games of the 2015 NBA Finals sold at auction Tuesday night for $46,020.
The navy blue alternate home #23 shirt was part of an ongoing auction of jerseys from this year’s playoffs and Finals conducted annually by the NBA and MeiGray.
Not only did James wear the jersey in both overtime classics at Oracle Arena, but the Cavaliers also wore this set earlier in the Eastern Conference Finals. The special NBA Finals patch was added to the front of it for the opening of the series, marking the Cavs’ first trip back to the championship round since 2007.
In the two Finals games against Golden State, James totaled 61 points, 17 assists and 17 rebounds.
The jersey, a size 2XL+2 inches extra in length, is registered in the NBA Authentication Database.
Last week, the gold away jersey worn by James in Game 3 sold for $ 24,464.
Also on Thursday night, Kyrie Irving’s jersey from Game 1 of the Finals, also worn during the first game of the conference finals, sold for $9,560.
Last month, a jersey worn by regular season MVP Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of the Finals sold for $22,242 while his Game 3 shirt ended just short of $20,000.
