Leaf is continuing to release its hobby-centric buyback re-packs with the launch of a 60-case product that includes only previously issued, signed football cards. Ink Football is set to release in about a week.
When a record-breaking ice storm hit the company’s Dallas headquarters last Thursday night, everything went on hold but the packout continues and 2013 Ink Football will arrive in the middle of next week. Available only to Leaf’s direct accounts, it will be the company’s eighth release of 2013.
Each box contains five autographed football cards authenticated by PSA/DNA or JSA that have been purchased on the open market and re-packaged for sale. Leaf promises that only Hall of Famers or current NFL stars are being included. Walter Payton, Bart Starr, Johnny Unitas, Sammy Baugh, Roger Staubach, Sonny Jurgensen, Jim Brown, Chuck Bednarik, Lou Groza, Jack Ham and Bob Lilly, as well as more contemporary Hall of Famers including Dan Marino and Jerry Rice are represented in publicity material.
Each case includes 10 boxes with just 60 cases produced for a total of 3,000 cards and Leaf says Ink was sold out within 48 hours of being solicited.
No word yet on box pricing.
