Burglars smashed their way into an Edmonton hobby shop last week and stole thousands of dollars worth of hockey cards.
Packing a hammer and boldly hanging around even after the store’s alarms went off, two suspects got away with four Wayne Gretzky rookie cards and a case of unopened boxes from Connor McDavid’s rookie year.

After less than a year on the job, Beckett has confirmed that CEO Kunal Chopra has left the company.
Chopra was hired in June of 2022, with Beckett highlighting his tech background.
During Chopra’s tenure, Beckett acquired NoXX Technologies and Due Dilly, both tech oriented companies. They also launched the Beckett Vault, an option for collectors to store their items and moved into a new facility in Dallas and began grading tickets. NoXX CEO and Founder Scott Roskind joined Beckett as the company’s Chief Visionary Officer.
Chopra’s replacement is Kevin Isaacson, a familiar name to longtime industry followers. The founder of the Industry Summit, Isaacson returns to a management role with Beckett. He served as an executive consultant from May of 2014 to September of 2017. He was hired as the CEO of distribution outlet Southern Hobby in July of 2021 when Entrust Global Group bought Southern Hobby. Entrust Global is also the parent company of Beckett.
Earlier this spring, Beckett announced changes at the top end of its new grading scale but shelved the idea after backlash from hobbyists and dealers. They’ve since been conducting surveys and asking for input on how to move forward.
