Jerry Kramer’s fundraising efforts for retired NFL players begins with a weekly autographed jersey auction.
Earlier this summer, former Green Bay Packers’ lineman Jerry Kramer pledged to help retired NFL players in need through ongoing football memorabilia auctions.
Each week throughout the season, one Hall of Famer will autograph a jersey with proceeds designated for the fund. The first item is a Paul Hornung Mitchell & Ness throwback which will be available through on-line bidding. The winner will be announced on Fox Sports Radio each Friday with proceeds going to what Kramer is calling the "Gridiron Greats Relief Fund".
Kramer appeared at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Anaheim this summer to announce a Super Bowl week auction called "The Shirt off Your Back" through which he hopes to raise $1 million. That auction is expected to include game-worn material and other memorabilia.
