Topps has signed Hall of Fame pitcher Sandy Koufax to an autograph deal.
The former Dodgers’ ace will appear in three products early in 2001 including the company’s Series One base set, which will be released in February, 2011 Topps Heritage “Real One Autographs” and 2011 Topps Tribute, scheduled for release in April.
While a relatively generous signer after his playing career ended in the mid-1960s, Koufax hasn’t had a significant contract in several years. He signed for Donruss in the late 1990s and also signed a small number of cards for Upper Deck in 2007.
Koufax will turn 75 later this month.
He retired in 1966 due to arm trouble with a 2.76 career earned run average and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1972.
