The shorts worn by Chicago Bulls guard Steve Kerr when he hit the game-winning, series-clinching shot in Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz are now up for bid in the Lelands 2020 Spring Classic Auction, which runs through June 19. The shorts have been photo-matched, according to the company.
In the huddle prior to the play, Michel Jordan told Kerr to be ready to shoot if the defense rotated to him. “I’ll be ready,” Kerr told Jordan, in an exchange captured by the filmmakers who produced “The Last Dance” docu-series.
After Jazz guard John Stockton came off Kerr to double Jordan, MJ swung the ball to Kerr, who knocked down a 15-foot jumper to give the Bulls the lead and seal the Bulls’ fifth championship.
“Tonight, Steve Kerr earned his wings,” Jordan told reporters after the win. “And I’m very happy for Steve.”
The Kerr shorts highlight a “Buzzer Beater Additions” collection of new Jordan and Bulls-related memorabilia recently added to the auction.
Among the items are some never-before-seen Jordan high school basketball photos, a 1996-97 Jordan Bulls game-worn warmup jacket and pants, and even a collection of furniture and piece of workout equipment that originated in MJ’s suburban Chicago home.
